IT Technician

Department: Plant Operations
Salary/Hourly Rate: $DOE - $DOE Per Hour

The IT Technician is a member of the Morningside team. The IT Technician monitors and maintains the local network, and user hardware/software at local and geographically dispersed sites. Main areas of focus include user support, maintaining voice/data connectivity, application support, MDF/IDF facilities, and network security.  

PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 

  • Respond to user submitted trouble tickets within agreed upon SLAs. Escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution of tickets.
  • Work within a ticketing system to ensure all issues are routed and handled appropriately. Escalate as needed.
  • Assist in training users and staff to ensure efficiency in daily operations and that best practices are being followed.
  • Maintain line of business applications used throughout the communities. Ensure up-time, accessibility, and functionality. Work with internal departments and vendors to enhance functionality and keep systems up to date.
  • Proactively monitor and address potential security issues. Implement and educate the user community on best practices for IT security.
  • Partner with other teams on their deliverables that involve IT infrastructure. Examples of this include the Safety department, Plant Operations, Finance, and Administration.
  • As appropriate, troubleshoot technical issues reported community residents. Work to quickly resolve this issue, escalate to the appropriate in-house team, or suggest 3rd party support.
  • Maintain enterprise inventory and scrub for accuracy. Affix asset tags to all corporate devices and track their whereabouts.
  • Follow procurement process with established vendors. Categorize and submit invoices for approval to the appropriate cost centers.
  • Assist users, resident, staff, and peers at remote sites with technical challenges.
  • Provides excellent customer service to staff and residents. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills. Actively participates as a team player and problem solver.

QUALIFICATIONS:                                                           

  • 3-5 years’ experience operating in a helpdesk or desktop support capacity.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Travel requirements: 2% - 5%
  • A+ certification preferred
